Our Background

KR Construction Limited is a Christchurch based construction and property development company, established in 2020 by Ta Karati and Dan Richardson to complete new home builds and multi unit property developments across the South Island. We offer an end-to-end client experience that includes seamless communication, cost management, on site organisation and quality work every time. Our team has the qualifications and experience to ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget.

The company and its related development entities have contracted to build over $50 million worth of housing since it’s establishment, and have a strong pipeline of further works.

Our Expertise

We have the right team and experience to deliver all types of housing projects, from custom designed family homes through to large scale multi-unit housing developments. We believe that having both design and construction expertise in our office allows us to add value to clients, by ensuring cost effective and easily buildable designs from the start. We can engage with subcontractors early in the design stage to leverage their knowledge and cost engineer projects to ensure the greatest value for money is delivered.

Our expertise allows us to assist clients to get projects up and running. We are more than just builders – we can manage all aspects of projects including resource management planning, engineering, utility servicing, survey and subdivision.

Our Values

Sustainability
KR Construction is a member of the New Zealand Green Building Council, and our experienced architectural designer is a qualified NZGBC Homestar assessor. Although not all homes we build meet the full Homestar assessment criteria, we aim to apply our knowledge of sustainable materials, building techniques and building performance to all projects.

Carbon Emissions
We have created in-house tools based on BRANZ CO2NSTRUCT to measure embodied carbon and energy values for building materials. This allows us to measure and offset carbon inputs early in the design phase. We believe sustainability is achieved by building warm, dry homes to reduce power consumption and making conscious choices when it comes to building materials.

Health and Safety
We are members of Site Safe, and have completed the IMPAC Prequal – a comprehensive audit of health and safety systems to ensure compliance, and provide peace of mind to clients that safety on our sites is managed using best practices.

Amotai
As a Pasifika owned business, we are members of Amotai – an organisation established to promote supplier diversity in Aotearoa New Zealand.
